Dr. Richards obtained his undergraduate degree in Neurobiology at Cornell University, his Masters of Public Health at Columbia University, and his Medical Degree at New York Medical College.

Dr. Richards completed his Orthopaedic surgical training at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program, then returned to Cornell University’s Hospital for Special Surgery to complete his fellowship training in surgery of the hand and upper extremity.

He specializes in the management of musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders of the hand, elbow, and shoulder, including the use of microsurgery, joint reconstruction, and arthroscopic techniques.

Dr. Richards volunteers locally for Operation Access.

Dr. Richards is affiliated with San Ramon Regional Medical Center, Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Oakland and UCSF San Francisco General Hospital. He sees patients at the Oakland, San Ramon, and Pleasanton Offices.
