Kathleen Geier, N.P.

Kathleen Geier received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Point Loma College in San Diego in 1975, and completed two nursing Master of Science degrees. In 1979, she graduated from the Perioperative Clinical Nurse Specialist program at the University of California, San Francisco, and in 2002 she received a Master of Science degree from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Nursing and has also earned Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She completed the Registered Nurse First Assistant program at the University of California, Los Angeles and works as a surgical first assistant for the orthopaedic surgeons of Webster Orthopaedic Medical Group.

In addition to surgical first assistance, Ms. Geier specializes in the management of osteoporosis and arthritis, including the perioperative education and care of patients undergoing total hip and total knee arthroplasty. She has lectured and published extensively on a variety of orthopaedic topics and is a member of the editorial board of the Orthopaedic Nursing Journal. She was a founding partner of the Jackson Orthopaedic Foundation in Oakland, where she currently serves as treasurer of their Board of Directors and actively participates in orthopaedic research.
